Van is the VP of Student Affairs for Ascend. She is currently a Junior majoring in Applied Statistics, Economics and Chinese. Originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, she went back to Vietnam in the summer for internships and visiting family. In the last summer, she did her internship at a commercial bank in Vietnam as a Corporate Banking intern. Currently, she is doing research on the Labor Force Participation Rate for both men and women in the United States in the past 60 years in overall and 25 years under different education attainment. She focused on whether the changes in LFPR is influenced mainly by Supply or Demand of Labor and what the reasons behind it is. Van loves to study languages, till now she can speak Vietnamese, English, Korean, and Chinese – in order of fluency. Van loves to travel and play sports. She hopes that one day she can travel to at least 50 countries.
